We can bring the topics to your organization. Popular topics to consider for your group are:
Are you “always” on a diet?
Have you tried every diet out on the market from Atkins to Slim Fast and juice cleanses?
How often have you told yourself “my diet starts Monday” ?
Do you miss out on time spent with your family and friends because you aren’t at your goal weight yet?
Here’s a fact, even when you do achieve a large amount of weight loss your body will still fight to put the weight you lost back on. Don’t believe me? Look at the success rate of "The Biggest Loser” contestants. In a 2016 study, which followed 14 participants 6 years after their initial weight loss, 1/3 of the participants were within 1% of their baseline starting weight or above. 13 out of 14 of the participants regained about 66% of the weight they lost and 4 participants were heavier than when they started.
My name is Kyla Gavlin and I am a Registered Dietitian. I can show you how to live without restrictions through my one-on-one focused nutrition coaching program.
Let’s face it, most diets fail because as soon as life throws a curveball, your diet goals take a backseat and you stop making progress...yet another failed attempt to get healthy.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
You can learn to stay consistent without losing your mind or missing out on happy hours, holidays, going out to dinner, or eating your grandma’s homemade chocolate chip cookies.
It comes down to making healthier choices most of the time. I can show you easy strategies to stay on track, constantly moving towards your ideal healthy goals.
We are all individuals. At Remedy Nutrition & Wellness, you will not find boring meal plans. As a Registered Dietitian, I will teach you how to eat well and provide tools to help you achieve your desired results.
I’ve helped men and women of all ages find clarity in making better food choices without the mental anguish.
I believe I can help you succeed because we will work together as a team to support your health and wellness journey.

Originally from the Midwest, Kyla fell in love with the mountains of western North Carolina during her dietetic internship through Lenoir-Rhyne University and made Asheville her home in the summer of 2016. Kyla is a proud alumni of Saint Louis University and graduated with both her undergraduate (B.S. Nutrition & Dietetics ‘12) and graduate degree (M.S. Nutrition & Dietetics ‘16).

Did you know there are more bacteria than there are cells in your body? That’s like saying the population of the U.S. is the number of cells in your body and half the world population is the number of bacteria in your body! Most of the bacteria in your body is in your gut (large intestine) but some live in other parts. Bacteria can have numerous health benefits as long as they stay in their specific body locations. Science has shown that gut-health is connected to overall health and well-being. There are good types of bacteria and bad types; the key is to attract the right types. Today we’ll learn how bacteria works in harmony with our bodies, what happens when there are too many bad bacteria in our bodies and how to get the best types of bacteria from certain kinds of foods.
It’s October! That means cauliflower is in peak season until late November. Because of new food trends like Paleo, Low Carb and gluten-free, cauliflower has taken the spotlight on the list of most sought out vegetables. Besides serving as a nutritional powerhouse, it is being used in all sorts of creative ways.
Did you know cauliflower can be used as a pizza crust alternative and substituted for rice and potatoes? Cauliflower doesn’t have to be that bland, mushy part of your plate that you turn your nose up at.
After reading this article you’ll be a pro at finding and storing the most fresh cauliflower, and you’ll have some fun recipes to try at home!
One of my favorite childhood memories has to be sitting at the table with my family and enjoying a delicious dinner. The smell of home-cooked meals always made my mouth water and my stomach roar. It was the only time of the day where our busy schedules aligned and we could give our focus to each other. There were no distractions, just the quiet murmur of our talk and laughter. Aside from just eating, it was a time for building relationships, enjoying each other’s company and getting things off our chests.
It seems we are hearing more about the benefits of plant-based diets for their improvements in heart health to memory and even prevention & treatment of Type-2 diabetes. However, a growing number of athletes across different sports (Venus Williams, Nate Diaz, and Rich Roll for example) are also incorporating a plant-based diet into their lifestyle.
Are you looking to make a change that’s life-long, instead of riding front row on the diet roller coaster?
Stop setting yourself up for failure, by taking on too much. Kyla can help you simplify eating habits, improve compliance, improve results and still enjoy your favorite foods.
