Remedy answers the most common questions about CBD hemp oil

CBD Explained – Our Customer’s Top Questions About Hemp Oil Answered

Many of Remedy’s customers, whether in the local Asheville, NC area or anywhere in the United States, ask us many questions about CBD and Hemp. And we’re more than happy to answer and educate the community about what separates good from bad CBD oil.

What is Hemp?

“Hemp” means the plant Cannabis sativa L. and any part of that plant, including the seeds, that has a total delta9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) concentration which does not exceed 0.3% on a dry-weight basis.

What is Hemp Extract?

“Hemp Extract” means a substance or compound intended for ingestion that is derived from or contains Hemp
and that does not contain other controlled substances.

Are Hemp and CBD the same thing?

Hemp oil is NOT the same thing as CBD oil. This is a great question because many online vendors sell “hemp oil” without telling the customer whether it contains any or no CBD.

Cannabinoids such as Cannabidiol (CBD) are derived from the Hemp plant. Products containing CBD, other
cannabinoids, or any part of the Hemp plant are considered “Hemp Extract.”

How are Marijuana and Hemp different?

Both hemp and marijuana are varieties of the plant Cannabis sativa L. Hemp has been adopted to mean a Cannabis plant that does not exceed 0.3% of THC on a dry weight basis. Marijuana has THC levels that exceed 0.3% of THC on a dry weight basis.
